Editorial transparency
Updates and corrections
Disclosure changes and scientific re-review are different events.
This log begins with the September 2026 transparency update. It is not a complete retrospective history of all earlier edits. Send a correction with the page URL and supporting source to hello@neurosurgery.ai.
September 17, 2026 — date semantics and maintenance controls
Type: presentation, provenance, and operational maintenance. Public records now separate first publication, page update, evidence search, and professional review. A page-layout change does not advance an evidence-search or professional-review date.
Spinal dural arteriovenous fistula v1.0 was first published September 15, 2026. Its focused evidence search and editor professional review were also completed September 15; these remain separate facts. The editor review is self-review, not independent neuroradiology or vascular-neurosurgery peer review.
The Index and Regulatory Atlas now have a generated review-due queue and source-to-wording-to-boundary claim map. These are operational controls; they do not rewrite public clinical conclusions or create a new review claim. Regulatory Watch now uses a fixed evidence-grade vocabulary.
September 6, 2026 — Index source-check additions
Added the FDA SafeOp 3 recall Z-2793-2026, limited to the specified devices, and the later Acorn 3D clearance K260322. These older events were missing from the original Index coverage; they are not described as new September events. Original dossiers, metrics and review dates remain traceable. All eight records now distinguish targeted source checks from full evidence reviews and disclose search limits. No clinical-outcome benefit was added.
September 6, 2026 — trigeminal neuralgia review record
Trigeminal neuralgia, article v1.3: the site editor reports professional review on August 17, 2026, covering the English text and all three illustrations, including the AI-synthesized MRI-style teaching image. The date and scope were confirmed on September 6. The status is now “Editor reviewed — text and figures.” Reviewer identity remains unpublished. This is editor self-review, not independent peer review or diagnostic validation.
This supersedes the earlier unspecified-attribution/date/scope record. First publication remains August 17. Medical narrative, scientific limitations and image files are unchanged; Figure 2 remains explicitly synthetic, not a patient scan. A new versioned share title card reflects article v1.3. No new literature appraisal was performed in this maintenance update.
September 6, 2026 — spinal teratoma review record
Spinal teratoma, article v1.3: the site editor reports professional review on August 28, 2026, covering the English text and all four illustrations, and confirmed the date and scope on September 6. The status is now “Editor reviewed — text and figures.” Reviewer identity remains unpublished. This is editor self-review, not independent peer review; separate neuropathology and developmental-biology reviews are not documented.
The earlier pending label reflected the record available at that time and is superseded by this confirmation. First publication remains August 30, 2026. Medical narrative, scientific limitations and English v2 image files are unchanged. The share title card uses a new versioned file to reflect article v1.3 and the updated status. No new literature appraisal was performed in this maintenance update.
September 6, 2026 — review disclosure update
Type: attribution, provenance, and policy clarification. No new clinical or anatomy review was performed as part of this website-maintenance update.
- Trigeminal neuralgia, article v1.2: the editor confirmed that clinical review took place. The earlier unconditional “clinical review is complete” wording is qualified: reviewer identity, actual date, and text/figure coverage are not published. September 6 records confirmation, not the underlying review date. Medical narrative and images are unchanged.
- Spinal teratoma, article v1.2: anatomy and specialist review remain pending. Editorial checks are distinguished from specialist review. English v2 image annotations are unchanged; image and article versions are tracked separately.
- Homepage and Atlas listing language now reflects each entry’s individual status instead of a collection-wide reviewed claim.
- The July 19 launch-format sample is retired from the public content set. It was not a verified Brief issue. The numbered archive starts with Issue 1, July 27, 2026.
How future corrections will be recorded
Substantive corrections should identify the affected URL/version, original statement, corrected statement, supporting source, date, and implications. A new article date must not imply that unchanged evidence or figures have received a new specialist review.
