Atlas standards

Image use and attribution

Keep the source, version, review status, and synthetic-image disclosure with the image.

What these images are

Atlas images are AI-assisted educational illustrations. MRI-style views are synthetic unless explicitly identified otherwise; they must not be presented as patient scans, clinical observations, histological evidence, or validated surgical-planning outputs. Each entry states its actual review status.

Permission and rights

No blanket open licence is granted by this page. Public access or a downloadable asset does not itself grant permission to republish, adapt, sell, or include an image in a training dataset. AI assistance does not establish that an image is free of copyright or other rights.

For uses requiring permission, email hello@neurosurgery.ai with the article URL, figure number and version, intended audience, medium, modifications, and commercial or non-commercial context. Permission must be assessed for the specific asset and use; the site cannot grant third-party rights it does not hold.

You may link readers to the original page. Nothing here removes rights or exceptions provided by applicable law, including applicable quotation, fair-use, or fair-dealing rights.

Attribution when reuse is permitted

Keep the figure title/number, Neurosurgery.ai attribution, original page URL, article and image versions, AI-assisted or synthetic-imaging disclosure, and the review status applicable to that version. Identify any adaptations. A credit line is not a substitute for permission when permission is required.

Review and safety boundaries travel with the figure

Do not crop away provenance or change a pending-review label into a reviewed label. A review statement about an article is not automatically a statement about every image or later modification. Readers should check the current Atlas entry and its review record.
